# Verify Your Email

Before you start using Writing Analytics, we'll ask you to verify your email address. If you ever lose access to your account, you'll be able to recover it through your email address. We may not be able to recover accounts created with temporary email addresses in cases we have no way to ascertain that you are truly the person who owns it.

{% hint style="info" %}
We strongly encourage using a **valid email address** to create your Writing Analytics account, and to keep it up to date when it changes.
{% endhint %}

We'll send you a confirmation email to activate your account immediately after signing up. Please check your spam folder or reach out to <support@writinganalytics.co> in case it doesn't arrive.

In case you believe you may have mistyped your address, click the *Resend* button, update it and confirm by clicking *Resend Verification*. A new confirmation email will be sent to the updated address.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://support.writinganalytics.co/help/verify-your-email.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
